Darkroom Door Edwardian Ladies

So very very vintage! Check out this card I made using the new Edwardian Ladies stamp from Darkroom Door:

It looks like an ad out of an old French newspaper.  I have coloured the ladies' dresses with my Old Paper Distress Marker. The frame itself is just divine - here I have added some liquid pearls, and I'm sure it's going to come in handy around other vintage images too.

Spellbinders Peacock Feather Card

Love the starkness of white on a rich dark colour:

The intricacy of the Spellbinders dies, together with Bazzill Cardstock and JustRite Stamps sentiment....simple but effective :)

New Shadow 3-Up Frame Stamp from Darkroom Door

I found the new shadow stamps from Darkroom Door a little more awesome than I first thought! Don't you love it when that happens?

The Shadow 3-Up Frame Stamp gave me a fantastic opportunity to play around with Distress Inks. Here I have swiped some yellow and green inks strategically over the rubber, so that it looks like sunset over some mountains. I then stamped a couple of the flowers from the Carved Flowers set in black Archival ink.

On this second card, I used some green and purple ink, putting more purple toward the bottom and then spritzed the rubber very lightly to get the colours to blend just a little before stamping. I then added the word and some hearts from the Whimsical Words set.

I'm really looking forward to further exploring the possibilities with this stamp!

New release Darkroom Door Film Frame

Love this new frame stamp from Darkroom Door - it's an awesome film frame, and is fantastic for framing photographs (or important parts of photos!).

Film - Frame Stamp - NEW

Here I have used it to frame a photochip of a couple from the Venetian collection:

I stamped the film frame onto some acetate, which made it a breeze to position it onto the card. It's such a romantic image, exactly what I needed for an anniversary card.

New Darkroom Door Brick Wall Background Stamp

Now, I know I said that the Sunshine background was my favourite, but check out this brick wall background stamp:

Exactly what I needed in my crafting arsenal! Something to use with all the boy cards I need to make yay!

Here it is used with one of the images from the Skater stamp set:

Isn't it the perfect grungey background for a boy themed card?

For this background, I chose some patterned paper and then covered it in a thin layer of gesso. While it was wet, I stamped the Brick Wall Background into it and left it to dry. Then I sponged some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on the edges, and stamped the word 'Skater' with Coffee Archival ink.

To complete the card, the skater image was stamped with Coffee Archival ink onto kraft cardstock, then fussy cut. I also made a second generation impression of the words 'Born to SK8' int he top right hand corner to look like faded graffiti.

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, I'm happy to answer any questions.

New Darkroom Door Sunshine Background

Of all the gorgeous new release rubber from Darkroom Door, I would have to say this stamp has me the most excited. It's the Sunshine Background stamp, and I'll say now that you'll be seeing lots of this one in my future:

For now, I have this card to show you:

I've combined one of the hottest trends (neon) with my favourite alphabet, the Alphabet Medley set to make this encouragement card.
